“Isn’t magnetic healing dangerous?” I am asked this question almost every week, over the phone or at the start of a first session. I think it is a healthy question. Before entrusting your body and your emotions to someone, it is only natural to want to know who you are dealing with. After 27 years of practice, I will tell you honestly where the real dangers lie, and they are not always where you might imagine.
Magnetic healing and danger: what really worries people
People who call me for the first time often share the same fears. They put them in their own words, but the same ideas always come back.
- The fear that a magnetic healer will “take” their energy or pass something negative on to them
- The worry of feeling worse after the session
- The memory of a bad experience, their own or a loved one’s, with someone unscrupulous
- Doubt about what really happens during the session
- The question of babies, children and pregnant women
These questions deserve clear answers. The magnetic healing I practise is done with my hands held a few centimetres above the person, without contact, without magnets, without any device and without anything to swallow. The gesture itself carries no physical risk. The dangers are elsewhere.
The real danger of magnetic healing: delaying or replacing medical care
The main danger is not in the healer’s hands. It lies in what the person stops doing because of them. Persistent pain, a fever, a lump, an extensive burn: all of these call for a doctor first. Waiting for a magnetic healing session instead of a consultation can cost precious time.
The second danger is stopping a treatment because you feel better or because someone advised you to. I tell every person I see: you never change a treatment without your doctor’s opinion.
Magnetic healing is a complementary approach to well-being. It never replaces medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or follow-up. No particular result can be guaranteed.
In France, the Miviludes, the public body in charge of monitoring cult-like abuses, regularly warns about wellness practices that lead people away from medicine. This vigilance is useful. A serious practitioner has nothing to fear from it, quite the opposite.
Can a magnetic healer do harm? The warning signs
Yes, someone who calls themselves a magnetic healer can do harm. Not with their hands, but through their words, their promises and their demands. Here are the signs that should make you walk away.
- They promise you a cure, or a guaranteed result in a set number of sessions
- They advise you to stop a treatment or not to see your doctor
- They make a diagnosis of your illness
- Prices are not announced in advance, or they climb from one session to the next
- They ask for a large sum to “lift a curse” or “remove a hex”
- They frighten you, telling you that you are in danger if you do not come back
- They push you to distance yourself from your loved ones
These behaviours have nothing to do with a gift. They are about control. If you are worried about the evil eye or a hex, I talk about it without dramatising in my article on the evil eye and hexes.
And the fear that someone will “take” your energy
This fear comes up often. In my practice, the work is done with a caring intention, at the service of the person, never to take anything from them. It is rather certain everyday relationships that wear you out. I talk about it in the article on the energy vampire.
After a session: what is normal and what is not
After a session, some people feel great tiredness that same evening, heavier sleep, or emotions that rise to the surface for a day or two. Others feel nothing in particular. These reactions are temporary and are part of what can be experienced when body and mind relax.
On the other hand, if your symptoms get worse, if a pain increases, if a fever appears, that is not “the effect of the session”. See your doctor without delay. A serious magnetic healer will always tell you the same thing.
How I work to keep magnetic healing safe
For 27 years, I have kept to a few simple rules. They protect the people I accompany, and they protect me too.
- I make no diagnosis and I promise no result.
- I always ask people to keep their medical follow-up and their treatments.
- I refer people to a doctor whenever the situation calls for it. For a serious burn, the first reflex remains to call 15 (the emergency medical services in France).
- My prices are displayed and are the same for everyone.
- There is no commitment. You come back if you feel the need, and only then.
- For a child or a baby, the parent stays present throughout the session.
At my practice in Le Perreux-sur-Marne, the session lasts about 45 minutes, conversation included. You stay dressed. Remotely, I work from a recent photo of you, with your face visible, for about 30 minutes. The full course of a session is explained in the article on how a session unfolds.
Frequently asked questions about the danger of magnetic healing
Is magnetic healing dangerous during pregnancy?
I accompany pregnant women, and sometimes the baby through the future mum. The session is gentle, without any manipulation. Pregnancy follow-up with the midwife or the doctor remains the priority.
Can a baby or a child have a session?
Yes, with no minimum age, always with the parent present. A baby who has a fever, who stops eating or who cries in an unusual way must see a doctor first. I talk about it in the article on magnetic healing for infants and children.
Can you feel worse after a session?
Passing tiredness or emotions rising to the surface are possible. A worsening of your symptoms is not: in that case, see your doctor.
How much does a session cost?
A session costs €100 and the pack of 3 sessions €270, at the same price at my practice or remotely, for an adult, a child or a baby. All the details are on the prices page.
