Guérison Pure · Sensitivity and magnetic healing
Some encounters leave you feeling perfectly fine. Others suddenly leave you tired, heavy or emotionally loaded. What if the real question were learning to better understand what you feel?
Some people tell me they pick up very quickly on another person’s state or mood.
They can feel perfectly well and then, after meeting someone or simply after spending some time in a group, suddenly experience tiredness, a feeling of heaviness, tension or an emotion they do not recognise as their own.
They often use this sentence: “I feel like I absorb other people’s energy.”
Since 1999, I have met many people who describe this kind of sensitivity to me. Some have lived with it all their lives without really knowing how to make sense of it.
Feeling as if you sense what belongs to others
A person may feel very well before an encounter and then notice a sudden change in contact with someone: tiredness, nervousness, sadness, a feeling of heaviness, or simply the impression of no longer being in their usual state.
When they leave that person or that environment, the feeling can sometimes shift.
“Does this emotion really belong to me?”
In my practice, I regularly meet people who feel they perceive the emotions or the “energies” of those around them.
I take this feeling seriously without automatically claiming that what they experience really comes from another person.
A feeling can be very intense without its origin being known for certain.
Are some people more sensitive than others?
We do not all have the same sensitivity to people, atmospheres and environments.
Some people notice a change of atmosphere very quickly. They pay particular attention to attitudes, silences, expressions or the tensions around them.
Others describe something harder to put into words: they sometimes say they “feel” a person before that person has even said much.
In the vocabulary of magnetic healing, some then speak of energy sensitivity.
For me, however, one essential distinction must be kept: feeling something does not necessarily mean knowing its origin for certain.
I describe the most common signs here: 5 signs that you are particularly sensitive to other people’s energies.
How can this sensitivity show itself?
1. Sudden tiredness
You felt fine before an encounter and afterwards you feel as if you have lost part of your energy.
2. Emotions that are hard to identify
Sadness, tension or nervousness can sometimes appear without you knowing straight away why.
3. Strong sensitivity to atmospheres
Certain places or certain groups can feel particularly pleasant, heavy or tiring.
4. The need to withdraw
After spending a lot of time with other people, you may feel the need to find some calm again.
5. The feeling that “something does not belong to you”
Some people describe a clear difference between their usual state and what they feel in certain situations. It is precisely this kind of perception that we can learn to observe with more distance.
When you feel you absorb other people
This sensitivity is not necessarily hard to live with. But for some people, it ends up becoming tiring.
They may feel constantly influenced by the mood of the people they meet, feel too many things, or no longer manage to tell what belongs to them from what they associate with others.
Some also tell me that after a day surrounded by people, they feel a strong need for calm.
The question then becomes less “How can I stop feeling anything?” than “How can I better understand what I feel without being overwhelmed?”
Can intimate relationships heighten certain feelings?
There is also a situation some people talk to me about in sessions: intimate relationships with a person they experience as very negative, unhealthy or emotionally draining.
An intimate relationship creates a particularly strong physical and emotional closeness. When it is shared with someone you do not feel good around, some very sensitive people tell me they feel a significant change after that closeness.
They may feel particularly tired, heavy, unsettled or emotionally loaded. Some then use expressions such as “I absorbed their energy” or “I feel as if I took on something that doesn’t belong to me.”
“Since that relationship, I don’t quite feel like myself any more.”
In my approach to magnetic healing, I give importance to this kind of feeling. After a relationship experienced as particularly negative, draining or unsettling, I believe it can be helpful to recentre and take care of your personal and energetic balance.
It is also in this context that some people come to see me, because they want to find more calm and better understand what they feel.
I do not, however, present it as a scientifically established fact that a “negative energy” is really transmitted or absorbed during an intimate relationship. I always distinguish what the person actually feels from the explanation one might give it.
It is also essential not to explain everything through energy. If a relationship regularly makes you feel bad, diminished, anxious, under pressure or deeply exhausted, it is important to look at the quality of the relationship itself.
And when a relationship drains your energy: energy vampire.
When you no longer recognise yourself in the people around you
Sometimes, during a personal or spiritual journey, the way we look at life, relationships and what surrounds us changes profoundly. What used to suit us can suddenly seem less right, less natural, or simply further from what we feel today.
This change can create a kind of gap with others. You can love your family, your friends or your partner and yet no longer feel understood as before. Conversations change, some relationships become harder to live with, and you may feel set apart, sometimes even like the “black sheep” of your own family.
In these periods, the need for solitude can become very strong. It is not necessarily about rejecting others. For some people, stepping away for a while from the noise, the demands and the expectations of the outside world allows them to find themselves again, recharge and hear more clearly what is right for them.
You may also discover that some relationships rested more on habit, the fear of being alone or the need to be accepted than on genuine closeness. This realisation can be unsettling, but it can also be experienced as an unveiling: you look differently at what you used to accept and you begin to see what you really want to keep in your life.
This change of outlook does not mean, however, that you are “more evolved” than others. Everyone moves forward with their own story, their own needs and their own way of seeing the world. Nor does the inner path require you to cut ties with your family, your friends or your partner.
There is also a more delicate point, particularly in a couple. When you feel deeply misunderstood by your partner, meeting someone outside the relationship who seems to think, feel or see things the way you do can create a very strong contrast. Talking with this man or woman can suddenly seem simpler, more natural and deeper than the conversations you have at home.
The risk is then to confuse this feeling of finally being understood with proof that you “no longer belong” with your partner. You may start comparing the two relationships, idealising this new connection and sometimes even considering a separation. This feeling deserves to be heard, but not turned too quickly into a decision.
A new person meets us without necessarily carrying the history, responsibilities, habits, conflicts or wounds built up in the couple. The feeling of connection can therefore be real while being amplified by novelty and by the relief of finally feeling understood.
Before concluding that the relationship no longer makes sense, it can help to ask yourself: what am I really missing in my relationship? Do I still want to talk to my partner about what I am going through? Is it our relationship that no longer suits me, or am I myself in a period of transformation that is temporarily turning all my bearings upside down?
Solitude can be deeply restorative when it is chosen and allows you to return to others more freely. On the other hand, if it becomes imposed, painful or total, or if you feel you can no longer bear anyone, it is no longer simply a need to recharge that should be brushed aside. In that case, it is important to keep a connection with someone you trust and, if necessary, to talk to a health professional.
When what you feel sometimes seems not to be yours
It is a sentence I hear regularly:
“I don’t understand, I was absolutely fine before I saw that person.”
When a sensation appears in a particular environment, it is natural to try to understand where it comes from.
Some people then feel that what they are experiencing does not belong to them.
My approach is not to tell them systematically: “This energy comes from such and such a person.”
I prefer to support them so that they learn to observe their own changes more closely: how they felt before, what they felt during, and what remains afterwards.
The aim is to gradually develop more discernment and personal bearings.
Learning to better understand your ability to sense
Over my years of practice, I have accompanied many people who wanted not only to live better with this sensitivity, but also to better understand and explore their ability to sense.
Some feel particularly sensitive to people. Others to places, atmospheres or certain bodily sensations, especially in their hands.
My support consists in particular of helping them pay more attention to their perceptions, tell their feelings apart and keep some distance in the way they interpret them.
In this context, I share the reference points that come from my personal experience and my practice of magnetic healing.
This is not an ability that can be measured medically or scientifically, and I of course do not promise that anyone will develop a particular ability to sense.
Cleansing your energy and recentring
When someone explores this kind of sensitivity, I also attach great importance to what I call energy hygiene.
For me, it is not about spending your day watching the people or the “energies” around you.
On the contrary, it is important to be able to come back to yourself and find your own bearings again.
It is in this context that I use the expression “cleansing your energy”.
In my practice, this expression refers above all to a personal process of recentring after an encounter, a relationship, a day or a situation experienced as particularly heavy.
I do not present this energy cleansing as the scientifically proven removal of an invisible substance or influence.
In my view, an energy practice should help a person keep their autonomy, their calm and their discernment, and not create fear of their surroundings.
How I can support you
When someone comes to see me and says:
“I feel other people too much.”
“I feel as if I absorb their emotions.”
“I no longer know what belongs to me and what doesn’t.”
I start by listening carefully to the way this person experiences what they feel.
Depending on what they ask for, the session can be directed towards a moment of recentring or towards support that helps them better understand and explore their sensitivity.
I can also share some reference points drawn from my years of practice.
I do not try to impose an interpretation or to turn an energetic feeling into a diagnosis or a scientific truth.
On the contrary, my aim is for the person to gradually better understand how they work and find their own bearings again.
Important: if these perceptions become very overwhelming, cause strong anxiety, make you feel watched or persecuted, if you hear or perceive things that the people around you do not, or if these experiences significantly disrupt your daily life, talk to a doctor or a health professional. Magnetic healing never replaces a diagnosis, a treatment or medical follow-up.
You do not need to know exactly where your feeling comes from
You do not need to arrive with a ready-made explanation.
You can simply describe to me what you are going through: the situations in which your state seems to change, the people around whom you feel particularly sensitive, or this more general impression of feeling a lot of things around you.
It is from your experience that we can work, without judgement and without imposing an interpretation on you.
You can also find out what I help with and read the testimonials of people I have accompanied.
