Some people undergoing radiotherapy also choose to call on a burn healer (« coupeur de feu »). My practice remains complementary and never takes the place of the team in charge of your treatment.
During radiotherapy, the skin in the treated area can become more sensitive and show various reactions. It is your radiotherapy team who must assess them, monitor them and tell you which care is appropriate.
Over my 27 years of practice, I have also been approached by people who, alongside their treatment, wished to receive my support as a burn healer.
My role must be perfectly clear: I work on the burn, on the treated area and on you as a whole, alongside your treatment. I also offer complementary wellbeing support during this period.
What is your radiotherapy team’s responsibility
Skin reactions that may appear during radiotherapy must be reported to, and followed by, the medical team looking after you.
- Show your skin to the team. Redness, sensitivity, pain, peeling or any unusual change in the treated area should be reported to your care team.
- Ask before applying any product. Products used on an irradiated area should be chosen in line with your radiotherapy team’s recommendations.
- Never interrupt your treatment. A session with me must never lead you to miss, delay or change a radiotherapy session.
- Report any worsening. If your skin gets worse, if the pain increases or if you have a symptom that worries you, contact your medical team.
For reliable information, you can read the French National Cancer Institute’s information on the side effects of radiotherapy (in French).
What is a burn healer?
The expression « coupeur de feu », literally « fire cutter », refers to a traditional practice that some people turn to when they experience a sensation linked to a burn or to intense heat.
In my own story, this practice comes from a family transmission. I have practised it for many years as part of my work as a magnetic healer and burn healer.
I do not present this practice as a medical treatment, and I do not claim to have any scientific proof that it acts on radiation dermatitis, a burn or any other complication of radiotherapy.
If you would like to understand my practice better, its history and the framework in which I work, you can read my main article on the burn healer.
Shingles is another situation in which people call on me: burn healer and shingles.
What some people experience in their skin
Radiotherapy can cause skin reactions in the treated area. They vary according to the person, the treatment and the area irradiated.
Redness similar to sunburn, called erythema, may appear during treatment. Sensitivity or peeling can also occur.
These signs should not be interpreted or handled by a wellbeing practitioner. They must remain under the supervision of your radiotherapy team.
Skin care: follow the recommendations you are given about hygiene of the irradiated area, clothing, friction and any products that may be allowed. Advice can vary depending on your treatment and your personal situation.
What I accompany during this period
On this subject, I want to use precise words.
I work on the burn and on the irradiated area, alongside your treatment. I never change your treatment, I never interfere with your care team’s decisions, and I promise no result.
Nor can I guarantee that a sensation of heat, burning or discomfort will ease after a session.
My work sits elsewhere: it is complementary wellbeing support, meant to give the person a moment of calm during what is often a trying time.
A time of respite
The care pathway involves many appointments. A session with me is designed as a different kind of time, during which the person has nothing to do.
Support for what you feel
Some people tell me about heat, tension or discomfort. I accompany them without turning these sensations into a diagnosis or a promise of results.
A moment to breathe
Fatigue, waiting and repeated appointments can weigh on daily life. The session can simply offer a pause along the way.
No choice to make between the two: my support can only come alongside your radiotherapy. You never have to choose between your treatment and a burn healer session.
A treatment that can weigh on everyday life
Radiotherapy is not just a few minutes spent under a machine.
There are the journeys, the repeated appointments, the waiting, the fatigue, the questions about the illness, and sometimes the feeling that your whole life now revolves around care.
The fear, anger, sadness or exhaustion that can come with this period are not the cause of cancer. Nobody is responsible for their illness because they supposedly handled their emotions badly.
My role is simply to welcome the person as they are, without looking for an « emotional cause » for their cancer and without interpreting their medical journey.
I discuss this question at greater length in my article on cancer, magnetic healing and emotions.
How does a session work?
The arrangements depend on your condition, your level of fatigue and whether you choose a session at my practice or remotely.
- A conversation. You simply tell me that you are currently having radiotherapy and what you would like from this time of support.
- At my practice. You stay dressed and comfortably settled. I can work a few centimetres from the body.
- Remotely. The session can also take place at a distance using a recent photograph, which saves you an extra journey.
Irradiated area: I do not handle damaged skin and I do not apply any product to the irradiated area. Local care is solely a matter for your medical team’s recommendations.
To find out more about this option, read my article on distance magnetic healing using a photograph.
Any distance session for an adult requires their prior consent.
They had a session: here is their feedback
I prefer not to pick out testimonials here claiming that a radiotherapy burn disappeared or that a skin reaction was healed.
You can read the public reviews left after sessions directly. They reflect individual experiences and are neither proof of effectiveness nor a guarantee of results.

Frequently asked questions about burn healers and radiotherapy
Should I come before or after a radiotherapy session?
It depends on the person. Some prefer to come before their radiotherapy session, others after, to soothe what they are feeling. We decide together what suits you best.
How often?
Generally, one session a week is enough, or one every two weeks, depending on how you feel and how your treatment is organised.
How long does a session last?
About 45 minutes at my practice. It is a full session that goes beyond « cutting the fire »: it also accompanies your morale, your emotions and the difficult memories this period can bring up. Remotely, using a photo, you have nothing to do except rest.
What about during chemotherapy?
Yes, within the same framework. My support is complementary and never interferes with your treatment.
Should I tell my medical team?
It is not compulsory; it is your choice. Some teams even refer their patients to a burn healer themselves. In any case, my support does not replace any prescribed care and does not change your protocol in any way.
Does a burn healer actually work?
What you can expect from a burn healer, and what a burn healer does not do, I explain here: true or false, risks and limits.
How much does a session cost?
A session costs €100, at my practice or remotely. The pack of 3 sessions is €270.
About me
I am Lionel Roubine, a magnetic healer and burn healer based in Le Perreux-sur-Marne, in the Val-de-Marne, near Paris.
I have been practising for 27 years. Burn healing is part of my family history and of the way I accompany certain people.
My support comes in addition to medical follow-up, as a wellbeing approach and a source of support during this period.
I do not promise that a burn will disappear, a faster recovery or any particular result.
If you are currently having radiotherapy
If your skin becomes red, painful or sensitive, or changes during treatment, talk to your radiotherapy team first.
They are the ones who can assess what is happening, advise you on appropriate care and decide whether medical intervention is needed.
If you would also like to receive my support as a burn healer, I can see you at my practice or accompany you remotely using a photograph.
Everyone responds differently to a session; my intention is to bring you more comfort and calm, without promising any particular result.
