Burn Healer (Coupeur de Feu): What It Is and When to Call One

Burn healer (« coupeur de feu »): many people know this traditional expression without always knowing exactly what it means, in which situations people turn to this practice, or how it differs from magnetic healing.

I am often asked whether a burn healer is also a magnetic healer, whether the practice only concerns accidental burns, or why some people also turn to it in situations such as shingles or during radiotherapy.

After 27 years of practice, what I want above all is to present my approach clearly, without setting it against medicine and without promising a result that can never be guaranteed.

One principle remains essential: my work as a burn healer is complementary. A burn, shingles, a skin reaction during treatment or any other health problem must be assessed and looked after medically whenever necessary.

Burn healer and magnetic healer: what is the difference?

The two terms are often linked, partly because some practitioners do both. That is my case: I describe myself as a magnetic healer and burn healer.

In my practice, magnetic healing is a broader form of support. The term « coupeur de feu », on the other hand, traditionally refers to a practice associated with fire and with the sensations linked to certain skin conditions.

It is not, however, a medical act: a burn healer does not diagnose a burn, shingles or a complication, and does not replace health professionals.

A practice passed down

A family tradition

The burn healer’s practice is traditionally described as a know-how passed from one person to another, sometimes within the same family.

In my own story, this practice was passed down to me through my family line. Today it is part of my work alongside magnetic healing.

This traditional origin is part of my story and of the way I practise. It is not, however, scientific proof of effectiveness, and I prefer to be transparent about that distinction.

Why do people turn to a burn healer?

The requests I receive vary. Some concern accidental burns, others sunburn, and others come from people going through medical treatment that may cause skin reactions.

Accidental burns

Cooking, hot liquid, an oven or another everyday accident: some people choose to contact a burn healer in addition to the appropriate first aid and, when the situation requires it, medical care.

Sunburn

Some people also contact me after sunburn. Severe sunburn, blisters, feeling unwell, a fever or any worrying situation does, however, call for medical advice.

Radiotherapy

Some people undergoing radiotherapy choose to call on a burn healer alongside their treatment. My work then remains strictly complementary and never changes the protocol set by the oncology team.

Shingles

Shingles is also one of the situations for which some people traditionally contact a burn healer. Diagnosing shingles and deciding on its treatment are the doctor’s role; my support does not take its place.

Burns: appropriate care always comes first

When someone contacts me after a burn, my work must never delay the appropriate first aid or a medical consultation.

How serious a burn is depends in particular on its depth, its size, where it is and who is affected. Some situations therefore need prompt medical care.

Important

When should you seek medical advice quickly?

A severe, deep or extensive burn, a burn to the face, eyes, hands or a sensitive area, a chemical or electrical burn, or a burn affecting a baby or a vulnerable person requires proper medical assessment.

Likewise, shingles near the eye or on the face, severe pain, a decline in general health or any worrying change justifies seeing a health professional quickly.

My work as a burn healer must never delay or replace that care.

Burn healers and radiotherapy

Radiotherapy is a particular situation. Some people call on burn healers alongside their treatment, especially when they want complementary support during that period.

In this context, I never change a treatment and I never ask anyone to stop or adjust the recommendations given by the medical team.

You can read my article dedicated to burn healers and radiotherapy.

Burn healers and shingles

Shingles is caused by the reactivation of the virus responsible for chickenpox. It is therefore a medical condition.

Some people also choose to call on a burn healer. In my practice, this support remains complementary to the diagnosis, the advice and any treatment prescribed by the doctor.

Shingles may need prompt medical care, especially when it affects the face or the area around the eye. So you should not wait for a magnetic healing session before seeing a doctor when the situation calls for it.

I explain in more detail how I work on the burning sensation of shingles here: burn healer and shingles.

Can you call on a burn healer for a child?

A parent may ask me to work with a baby or a child under 18. In that case, the request must be made with the consent of the legal guardian.

With a child, and especially a baby, medical caution is essential. My support never replaces the paediatrician, the doctor or A&E when the child’s condition requires care.

Can a burn healer work remotely?

Yes, part of my practice is carried out remotely. This option is used in particular when the person cannot come to my practice in Le Perreux-sur-Marne, or lives in another region or abroad.

When I work remotely from a photograph, the prior agreement and consent of the adult concerned are essential. I do not knowingly carry out a session on an adult without their knowledge.

For a minor, the request must be made with the consent of their legal guardian.

You can find out how it all works in my article on distance magnetic healing from a photo.

What I can offer you

I have been practising magnetic healing and the traditional work of the burn healer for 27 years. I see people at my practice in Le Perreux-sur-Marne and also offer distance sessions when this suits the situation.

I prefer to be clear about the place of my work: I do not make a diagnosis, I do not prescribe any treatment and I do not promise healing.

My support is a complementary approach to well-being, alongside medicine whenever medical follow-up is needed.

Wondering whether it really works? I talk about it frankly here: are burn healers effective?

Thank you so much, Lionel, for your help. You had already helped me several years ago, so of course you were the one I thought of when I burnt my hand today. Incredible, you made yourself available just like back then… so you haven’t changed over time. The sharp pain was gone within 5 minutes. A big thank you.

I called Mr Roubine yesterday for a burn across my whole hand from an electric hob, and thanks to him the pain eased considerably within moments. The next day the only trace of my mishap was a small blister and I could use my hand almost normally. I should add that I called on a Sunday evening and was welcomed with a smile, kindly and generously. I can only recommend that you trust him! Thanks again for his precious help!

My 3-year-old daughter burnt her hand with candle wax. I called Lionel, who relieved her straight away, remotely by phone; at her age a child doesn’t lie. Thank you again for your work and for being available at such a late hour.

We have already called on Lionel several times for his gift as a burn healer, by phone. Yesterday it was for my daughter, who calmed down almost instantly. Lionel listens and is very available. I recommend him.
