Lionel Roubine, a healer for 27 years
I am a healer, a magnetic healer and a burn healer (“coupeur de feu”). This gift was passed down to me by my great-grandmother, who already supported sick people during her lifetime. Each session is based on listening, presence and what I feel.
I did not choose this path. For a long time, I even tried to understand what was happening to me, and sometimes to keep it at a distance. Then, over the years, I came to accept this particular sensitivity that has been with me since my teenage years.
Today, after 27 years of practice, I can tell this story simply. It begins when I was 14.
My journey
1It all began at 14
That day, my twin brother and I each had an exam, in different districts of the city. Before leaving, I told him something strange: to be careful when crossing the road, and not to get hit by a car.
A few hours later, after passing my exam, I was the one who was hit by a car while crossing the road.
The impact was violent. I went over the bonnet, then over the roof and the boot before ending up on the ground, unconscious for a few minutes. And yet I came out of it with no fracture and no serious injury.
Looking back, this event was a real turning point for me. From that time on, experiences that I could neither explain nor understand began to multiply.

2The dream that stayed with me
Shortly after this accident, I had a dream that I still remember today with astonishing precision.
An old lady dressed in white stood in front of me. Her gaze was particularly intense. She placed something in my hand and said to me:
“You are the only one who can hear me.”
At 14, I did not look any further. I did not know who this woman was, and I certainly did not imagine that this dream would take on a particular meaning several years later.
3What my mother taught me
After that period, I began to feel things differently. I was extremely sensitive to people, places and atmospheres. I would also feel emotions that I did not understand and which sometimes did not seem to belong to me.
My body reacted in an unusual way too. I could yawn or burp repeatedly in certain situations, especially when I was close to certain people.
At the time, I had no explanation. Over the years and through my practice, I came to associate these reactions with my own way of sensing and working with what I call energies.
A few years later, I finally spoke about it with my mother. That is when she told me something I did not know.
Her grandmother also had a particular sensitivity. When she took care of people, she could have the same physical reactions that I was describing. In the family, people said she had a gift.
She had wanted to pass this practice on to my mother when she was a child, but life decided otherwise.
When I heard this story, I immediately thought back to my dream.
For me, the old lady dressed in white was my great-grandmother. I then understood this dream as a form of transmission, a symbolic way of receiving what she had not been able to pass on before.
4Years of doubt
Contrary to what one might imagine, I did not accept all this straight away. Quite the opposite.
After my accident, my dreams were particularly intense. I felt the need to withdraw more, and some experiences unsettled me. But I remained very sceptical.
Later, a friend advised me to meet an Orthodox priest, a monsignor and exorcist known for his spiritual sensitivity. At first I refused, reminding him that I was not Orthodox. He insisted.
When we met, the priest looked at me and said:
“You have a gift of healing.”
My first reaction was to answer him, respectfully, that I did not believe in that kind of thing.
But those words stayed in my mind. He also taught me certain things.
Later on, I met religious figures of different faiths. They advised me, and some of them then sent people to me.
5The first experiences with my hands
Back home, I began to try, almost in spite of myself.
My daughter had a stiff neck. My wife had sprained her foot. My Belgian Malinois had skin problems. I began to work with my hands close to them, without needing to touch, without any real method and above all without much conviction.
I observed changes that surprised me. I still did not claim to understand what was happening, but these first experiences began to shake my certainties.
For the first time, I thought seriously about the priest's words.

6Understanding, then returning to the essential
So I wanted to understand. For several years, I explored different worlds linked to energies and self-knowledge: the Lecher antenna, the pendulum, cards, stones, runes, psychology and personal development. I also became interested in how human beings work, in certain spiritual experiences that are hard to explain, and in the mechanisms of self-sabotage.
But deep down, above all, I was trying to understand myself.
Then one night, I received a very clear message in a dream:
“Stop using all these tools. You need nothing. Everything is already within you.”
I decided to stop everything. I set aside the pendulum, the cards, the stones, the runes and all the other supports I had used until then. This choice was not a small one. It meant giving up habits, certainties and a form of security. Without these tools, I found myself facing myself, with my feelings, my doubts and my responsibility.
These experiences deeply shaped the way I practise. They taught me that this gift must not be used to satisfy curiosity, impose a truth or cross someone's boundaries. It calls for humility, caution and sincere listening. It also taught me that some things must remain unspoken, and that not saying everything can sometimes be a form of respect.
This is still how I work today. With what I feel, but also with what I do not feel. With the conviction that what matters most is not always found in the answers we give, but in the quality of the presence we offer.
7Understanding that I could not help everyone
When I started, I wanted to help everyone. Looking back, that was a mistake.
I had to learn to respect my limits and to accept that not everyone is necessarily meant to come to me.
Some dreams kept coming back with the same message: not to intervene every time, but to welcome the people who come to me naturally.
Over time, this idea became a guiding principle.
I no longer try to convince anyone. I do not run after anyone. I simply support those who feel that my practice may have a place in their journey.
I also sometimes say it clearly to someone: I cannot help you, I am not the right person. This feeling can be very strong, and I have learned to respect this limit rather than wanting to intervene at all costs.
As for where exactly this ability comes from, everyone can use the words that suit them. For my part, I have long had the feeling of being guided by something greater than me.
How I work
Over the years, my practice has become simpler. A session lasts about 45 minutes. I begin by listening to you in order to understand what brings you, then I work according to what I feel, the person, and what arises during the session.
I am a healer before being a magnetic healer. Magnetism is the best-known word for part of what I do, but it does not fully sum up my practice.
In my practice, I also feel accompanied by those I call my guides of love. I perceive them as a kind presence that helps me stay true in what I do and respect my limits as well as those of the person I am supporting.
There is no single way to experience a session. Some people describe deep relaxation, warmth, tingling, a feeling of lightness or calm. I do not try to bring about any particular sensation, and I never promise a result.
My support is a complementary well-being approach. It never replaces a doctor, a diagnosis, a treatment or medical follow-up. I never ask anyone to stop or change a prescribed treatment.
I do not ask anyone to share my beliefs. I welcome you with your own convictions, whether spiritual or not. What matters to me is the quality of presence, respect and honesty in the support I offer.
27 years of practice and encounters
In 27 years, I have met people of all origins, all cultures and all beliefs.
Psychiatrists, doctors and psychologists, as well as physiotherapists and osteopaths, refer some people to me when they feel my support may have a complementary place in their journey.
So I see people with very different profiles, with or without spiritual beliefs. My work can sit alongside other forms of support, without ever replacing medical, psychological or paramedical care.
I have worked in different settings: at home, in well-being centres and in luxury spas.
“Love is stronger than everything.”
